Trudes, hello friend. You are zumba missed in RI. I loved your post. If you like this - you and Chad would like a book called How To Talk So Kids will Listen and How to Listen so Kids will Talk. It is all about providing a choice so that the child learns to make the good choice and become an independent thinker rather than a drone that we are instructing. It takes more patience. But there is a great difference in me saying Clare, go get your boots on NOW! And saying Clare, you can go put your boots on now and we can play in the snow before we leave OR you can not but there will be no play. Etc. Choices - where the instead would certainly work as well. Something for us all to think about as we strive to raise children who can think for themselves. Much love - B.
